May 2019 Gallery - PURPLE

The word purple apparently originated from the name of a dye from a shellfish called porphyra in Greek. The dye was rare and expensive and used for colouring the robes of Roman emperors and magistrates.

These days the expression "having a purple patch" is used to describe a time when things are going particularly well, which is perhaps not what the owner of this lost bucket is experiencing.

How many variations on this theme can we find in this month's gallery?
